INTERIM GRADE 1
10/10/13
Assessor feedback
|
Matt, for task 1 part 1 you discuss some employment
opportunities and functions in the Performing Arts. You refer to some jobs and explain their
roles well. You also explain how some of the jobs are linked to others.
The production manager is linked with the following job roles
in the theatre, Set Design, Props, Costume Design, Performance Departments,
Stage Crew, Lighting and Sound, Extra casual staff, Directors and all the
production heads of departments.
The Production Manager has a schedule which allows sufficient time for 'making' departments such as wardrobe, paintshops, workshops and props. They have arrangements to make in the performance departments with set designers and the lighting & sound on the necessary preparations for providing people and equipment for the shows. The Production Manager may have to employ extra casual staff if it's s large production such as a pantomime or a musical. The Production Manager has a link with The Finance and Administration Department as the Production manager has to stay on top of the budget, not allowing people e.g the set designer, to pay out money left right and centre for things they need. They need to make sure the budget is being maintained.
For task 1 part 2 you create a database for a theatre company
New Pace Theatre
You describe it in some detail

Assessor’s summary: strengths and areas
for development
|
Task 1 part 1 is
promising– some jobs well-described and how they link to others.
Develop this to M1 by expanding
the range of roles you describe in detail and how they link.
Task 2 part 2 you create
a name for a theatre company, you describe it.
Develop it into P3 by creating
a database for it with a list of services. For M3 say clearly for each WHY
they are most suitable for the needs of your own particular company.
